The Testament of Ann Lee captures the ecstasy and agony of her quest to build a utopia, featuring more than a dozen traditional Shaker hymns reimagined as rapturous movements with choreography by Celia Rowlson-Hall (Vox Lux) and original songs & score by Academy Award winner Daniel Blumberg (The Brutalist).

“A most unusual musical and a genuinely remarkable movie.” (Mark Olsen, Los Angeles Times)
“This is a transcendent cinematic vision you can dance to. By God, it’s inspired.” (Bob Strauss, San Francisco Chronicle)
“A stately, historical fever dream blessed with a ferocious performance by Amanda Seyfried, The Testament of Ann Lee relates the origin story of a nearly extinct American religious sect with unblinking authenticity and Olympian artistry.” (Bill Newcott, The Saturday Evening Post)
