Academy Award winner Russell Crowe makes his directorial debut in “The Water Diviner”, an epic and inspiring tale of one man’s life-changing journey of discovery. Crowe, as Australian farmer Joshua Connor, goes in search of his three missing sons, last known to have fought against the Turks in the Battle of Gallipoli. Arriving in Istanbul, he is thrust into a vastly different world where he encounters others who have suffered from the conflict: Ashe (Olga Kurylenko), a strikingly beautiful but guarded hotelier; her young, spirited son, Orhan (Dylan Georgiades), who finds a friend in Connor; and Major Hasan (Yilmaz Erdogan), a Turkish officer who fought against Connor’s boys and may be this father’s only hope. Facing seemingly insurmountable odds, Connor searches the battle-scarred land-scape to find the truth…and his own peace.

Insider’s tip:  Masterful acting, technically superior and beautiful cinematography, and a top-notch musical score underpin this winner of three Australian Academy awards.  Critic Mike Smith describes the film as “a first-rate classic that is sure to be remembered around Oscar time.”
