Gotti follows infamous crime boss John Gotti’s (John Travolta) rise to become the “Teflon Don” of the Gambino Crime Family in New York City. Spanning three decades and recounted by his son John Jr. (Spencer Rocco Lofranco), Gotti examines Gotti’s tumultuous life as he and his wife (Kelly Preston) attempt to hold the family together amongst tragedy and multiple prison sentences.

Insider’s tip: The biopic was eight years in the making and cost about ten million dollars to produce. John Gotti’s son and daughter were intimately involved in the production, providing their father’s clothes, lending his cars for the film, asking John Travolta to play their father, and being present on the set during filming.  They provided the production with various family videos to help with the accuracy of their father’s portrayal. Not the usual Hollywood make-believe, the film is as close to real life as can be.
