A man (Mads Mikkelsen) stranded in the Arctic after an airplane crash must decide whether to remain in the relative safety of his makeshift camp or to embark on a deadly trek through the unknown in hopes of making it out alive.

Insider tip: “It’s pretty amazing just how compelling this is for being so simple, but it allows the viewer to really get wrapped up in the minutiae of it all: the performance, the landscape, the minor triumphs and major setbacks” (Lindsey Bahr, The Associated Press). David Ehrlich, IndieWire, adds: “Arctic works because it’s so believable. The movie never cheats or takes shortcuts.” Mick LaSalle, San Francisco Chronicle: “Despite very little dialogue and only one actor with a speaking role, Arctic has a smart script. Something is always happening.” Leah Greenblatt, Entertainment Weekly: “Penna’s concept is hardly new, but his execution is sharp, clean, and smartly paced; a harrowing postcard from the void.”

This feature, filmed in 4K, is proudly presented at this theatre in ultra-high definition (4K).
