SATURDAY, JULY 2, 7:30 p.m.
THE LEGENDS OF SURF MUSIC – A TRIBUTE TO THE BEACH BOYS AND JAN & DEAN
Direct from California, home of the surfin’ beach sound, the SURF CITY ALLSTARS present an evening in tribute to the greatest surf music hits of THE BEACH BOYS and JAN and DEAN.  “California Girls,”  “Little Deuce Coupe,” “In My Room,” “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” “Little Old Lady from Pasadena,” “Barbara Ann,” and on and on. Come and re-live the era with a five-member band composed of musicians and vocalists who regularly toured with the Beach Boys and Jan & Dean.
 
TUESDAY, JULY 5, 7:30 p.m.
MY HEART STOOD STILL: THE LOVE SONGS OF RICHARD RODGERS
ANNA BERGMAN, soprano, premiered this show for Feinstein’s at Loews Regency in New York City in 2008 to critical acclaim.  Returning to Memorial Hall Center for the Arts after a six-year hiatus, Anna, in this show, a tribute to the marriage of the exquisite melodies of Rodgers to the lyrics of his partners, Lorenz Hart and Oscar Hammerstein, as well as his collaborations with Charnin and Sondheim, will absolutely charm you with her beauty, grace and voice.  “Something Wonderful,” “Bewitched,” and “Do I Hear a Waltz” are some of the evening’s joys.   PAUL GREENWOOD on piano.  

SATURDAY, JULY 9, 7:30 p.m.
A TRIBUTE TO THE MUSIC OF BILLIE HOLIDAY, LENA HORNE, AND ELLA FITZGERALD
Former New Orleans Jazz artist, SAMIRAH EVANS, in an evening celebrating three of America’s stellar African-American ladies of song.   “My Man,” “Stormy Weather,” “A-Tisket, A-Tasket,” and many more gems. Piano, bass, guitar, drums, saxophone, and vocal. 

TUESDAY, JULY 12, 7:30 p.m
GRAAE’S ANATOMY
JASON GRAAE, whose credits include star and guest appearances in Broadway, Off-Broadway, television, motion picture, and opera productions, presents a cabaret evening of song and mirth.  Included will be songs by Jerry Herman (“Hello Dolly,” “Mame,” and “La Cage Aux Folles”), by Charles Strouse (“Bye Bye BIrdie,” “Annie,” and “Applause”), as well as songs by Leonard Bernstein and Kander and Ebb.  ALEX RYBECK on piano.   

SATURDAY, JULY 16, 7:30 p.m.
VILLAGE LIGHT OPERA GROUP
Sixty accomplished NYC vocalists present Broadway standards, light opera favorites, and well-known songs from Gilbert and Sullivan.  A tradition in the Deerfield Valley, this special concert benefits MHCA and Village Light Opera Group.   Piano accompaniment.  

TUESDAY, JULY 19, 7:30 p.m.
A TRIBUTE TO BENNY GOODMAN AND PEGGY LEE
AMANDA CARR, nominated for Jazz Artist of the Year at the Boston Music Awards 2010, and THE EVERETT LONGSTRETH ORCHESTRA, present an evening in tribute to the works of the world-famous big band leader, Benny Goodman (The King of Swing, Patriarch of the Clarinet, The Professor, Swing’s Senior Statesman), and the legendary vocal artist and composer, Peggy Lee.  “Sing, Sing, Sing,” “Moonglow,” “Body and Soul,” “My Heart Belongs to Daddy,” and much more.   Fifteen pieces including vocalist. 

SUNDAY, JULY 24, 4 to 6:30 p.m.
BENEFIT GALA for Memorial Hall Center for the Arts
At THE HERMITAGE INN, West Dover, in an exquisite and splendid garden setting, enjoy sumptuous hors d’oeuvres, light refreshments, and the music of Barbara Lipstadt and Friends.  A relaxing and bucolic late-afternoon gathering to benefit Memorial Hall Center for the Arts. Cash bar available.  

TUESDAY, JULY 26, 7:30 p.m.
SHE WROTE THE SONG
SONNY and PERLEY return in a cabaret evening of recognition and acclaim for the music written or co-written by women composers.  Some of the women composers being celebrated include Dorothy Fields, who with Jimmy McHugh and Jerome Kern gave us classics such as "I Can't Give You Anything But Love" and "The Way You Look Tonight," Ann Ronell ("Willow Weep For Me"), and Consuelo Velasquez ("Besame Mucho"). Also celebrated are composers Nina Simone, Edith Piaf, Carolyn Leigh, Peggy Lee,
and Abby Lincoln. Piano accompaniment. 

SATURDAY, JULY 30, 7:30 p.m.
JASON PETTY & CAROLYN MARTIN’S TRIBUTE TO HANK WILLIAMS AND PATSY CLINE
JASON PETTY, who played to sold-out audiences as the star of “Hank Williams: Lost Highway” at the Little Shubert Theatre in NYC, and CAROLYN MARTIN, Grammy nominated and soon to be inducted into the Western Swing Artists Hall of Fame, in a tribute to the two most influential singers in country music history.  Over twenty chart-topping hits performed with a live band.  “Hey Good Lookin’,” ”Your Cheatin' Heart,” “I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry,” “Crazy,” “Leavin' On Your Mind” and more.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 2, 7:30 p.m.
RENANA GUTMAN: AN EVENING OF SOLO PIANO
RENANA GUTMAN, the internationally-acclaimed classical pianist, in an evening of solo piano.  Bach, Schubert, Chopin, and Schumann.   

SATURDAY, AUGUST 6, 7:30 p.m.
SIMON AND GARFUNKEL RESTROSPECTIVE
AJ SWEARINGEN and JONATHAN BEEDLE have been performing this remarkable tribute for more than ten years.  AJ’s warm baritone and Jonathan’s soaring tenor combine flawlessly to capture the essence and magic of the “Simon & Garfunkel” sound from the early years in Greenwich Village.  “I am a Rock,” “Sounds of Silence,” and “Scarborough Fair,” are a few of the gems of the evening.

THE PRISONER OF SECOND AVENUE
The Southern Vermont Players perform this Neil Simon classic, which appeared on Broadway from November 1971 through September 1973.  The play was nominated for the 1972 Tony Award for Best Play.  The story is of Mel and Edna Edison, a typical husband and wife at the time, and revolves around Mel losing his job and subsequently having a mental breakdown.  The comedy and drama that unfolds from the script remains aptly appropriate to the environment of today.  The Southern Vermont Players will be directed by Bob DuCharme.    

TUESDAY, AUGUST 16, 7:30 p.m.
TRUMPET TREASURES: FROM THE TRANQUIL TO THE TRIUMPHANT!
A night in tribute to the wonderful songs from famous trumpet players, featuring tunes by Louis Armstrong, Chet Baker, Harry James, Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, and others.  “Wonderful World,” “Blue Bossa,” “Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White,” “I Can't Get Started With You,” and “A Taste of Honey,” are an example of the evening’s gems.  Phyllis Isaacson, piano, Genevieve Rose, bass, Richard Mayer, drums, Ed Mari, woodwinds, Charlie Schneeweis, trumpet and vocals. 

THURSDAY, FRIDAY, AUGUST 18, 19, 7:30 p.m.

THE 1959 BROADWAY SONGBOOK
JEFF HARNAR is a two-time winner of the Manhattan Association of Cabaret Award (MAC) as best male vocalist and has three times been honored with the Backstage Bistro Award (newcomer, male vocalist, best show).  He last appeared on this stage in 2004 with Shauna Hicks in the very well received “I Got Rhythm: Mickey and Judy’s Hollywood” show.  This evening’s cabaret celebrates the music that was on Broadway in the year of his birth, 1959, and includes tunes from “Gypsy,” “The Sound of Music,” and “Once Upon a Mattress,” to name a few.  “Tonight,” “On the Street Where You Live,” and “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” are just some of the many memories of the evening.  Piano accompaniment by ALEX RYBECK. 

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 7:30 p.m.
A NIGHT OF THE LEGENDS – A TRIBUTE TO THE MUSIC OF PAUL ANKA, NEIL DIAMOND, BOBBY DARIN, DION, AND BOBBY RYDELL
CARL THOMAS returns to MHCA with a spectacular show that celebrates the music of the teen-idol legends of the 50’s and 60’s.  The show includes four musicians of such remarkable ability that they recorded and performed with famous artists including Barbra Streisand, Frankie Valli, Robert Goulet, and many more.  “Volare.,” “Wild One,”  “Diana,”  “Sweet Caroline”  and  “Dream Lover”  are just the beginning.  Drums, bass, guitar, piano, and vocal.
